In the operational zone of the Ukrainian Operational Group of Forces (OTG) “Kharkiv” on the Kharkiv direction, Russian occupiers attempted to storm Ukrainian defensive positions 6 times in the areas of Vovchansk, Starytsya, and Lyptsi.
In the “Khortytsia” Operational-Strategic Group of Forces (OSG) operational zone on the Kupyansk direction, the enemy attacked 10 times. Five assaults near Berestove and Pishchane were successfully repelled. Fighting continues near Synkivka and Berestove. On the Lyman direction, Russian forces launched 16 attacks near Hrekivka, Nevske, Makiivka, and Terny. Fighting continues near Makiivka. On the Siversk direction, the aggressor conducted 5 assaults in the areas of Bilohorivka, Verkhnyokamianske, Vyimka, and Rozdolivka. On the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces stopped 5 enemy attacks near Chasiv Yar, Hryhorivka, and Andriivka. On the Toretsk direction, Russian forces attempted to break through the Ukrainian defenses 14 times near Pivnichne, Pivdenne, and New York. Eleven attacks were repelled.
In the “Tavriya” OSG operational zone, the enemy’s most intense attacks are on the Pokrovsk direction, where 40 assaults occurred. Attacks are still being repelled near Novooleksandrivka, Vozdvyzhenka, and Novoselivka Persha, and Yevhenivka. On the Kurakhove direction, the invaders attempted 11 times to advance in the areas of Netaylove, Kostyantynivka, Krasnohorivka, and Paraskoviivka, but were unsuccessful. Fighting continues near Netaylove. On the Vremivka direction, there were nine enemy attacks in the areas of Vodyane and Urozhaine. On the Hulyaipole direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled four enemy attacks towards Hulyaipole. On the Orikhiv direction, the enemy failed in 3 attempts to advance near Mala Tokmachka and Novoandriivka.
General conclusion:
- The enemy command of the “Sever (North)” Operational Grouping should switch to a defensive stance on the Kharkiv direction due to the lack of necessary forces and means to continue offensive actions.
- In the Vovchansk area, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions dressed in civilian clothing and concealed weapons under their clothes, which is considered treachery and a crime under the rules of war, prohibited by international law.
- The Kupyansk direction is gaining increasing operational significance in the context of the enemy’s summer-autumn campaign of 2024.
- On the Kupyansk direction, the distance from the forward units of the enemy’s “Zapad (West)” Operational Grouping to the Oskil River is up to 10 km in the Pishchane area. The situation is assessed as a tactical crisis.
- The main forces of the enemy’s 47th Tank Division of the 1st Tank Army persistently attempt to advance westward north of the Kyslivka – Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi railway in the general direction of Ivanivka – Stepova Novoselivka, as the stability of the “Khortytsia” OSG defense on the Kupyansk direction depends on holding the areas of Stepova Novoselivka and Petropavlivka.
- The introduction of the 27th Motorized Rifle Division into the operation did not go according to plan: instead of launching an offensive closer to the Kostyantynivka – Yasynuvata road, the division is attacking head-on in the Mayorsk – Toretsk direction, which is a result of successful actions by the Ukrainian Defense Forces on the adjacent Kramatorsk direction.
- The enemy’s military command on the Pokrovsk direction is shifting the focus of its main strike closer to the Toretsk area of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, intensifying activity in the areas of Kalynove, Oleksandropil, and east of Pivnichne.
- The enemy’s “Tsentr (Center)” Operational Grouping is attempting to reach a barrier line along the Vovcha, Kazennyi Torets, and Bychok rivers.
- The command of the “Tsentr (Center)” Operational Grouping has increased the grouping’s strength to 90,000 personnel. However, attempts to advance on the Toretsk direction over the next 2-4 weeks will reduce this number to the minimum combat capability threshold.
- The “Tsentr (Center)” Operational Grouping employs infantry assault tactics supported by artillery and aviation (KAB with UMPK modules) on the Toretsk direction, but the Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully counter the enemy’s infantry groups, significantly slowing the enemy’s advance.
Change in the line of contact (LoC):
- There were 128 combat engagements on various fronts.
- On the Kharkiv direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces regained control over positions near and in Hlyboke. The 155th Separate Marines Brigade of the Pacific failed to repel an attack by units of the Kharkiv Operational-Tactical Group north of Hlyboke.
- Russian forces launched attacks near Sotnytsky Kozachok, Lyptsi, Hlyboke, Starytsya, Tykhe, and Vovchansk.
- On the Kupyansk direction, advanced units of the 1st and 15th Motorized Rifle Regiments of the 2nd Motorized Rifle Division of the 1st Army Corps continued their attempts to exploit their tactical success achieved earlier near Berestove. They attacked generally towards Krokhmalne – Pishchane towards Kolisnykivka, simultaneously trying to expand their penetration towards the southern flank in the direction of Berestove – Stelmakhivka. Attacks by the BTG of the 7th Separate Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 11th Army Corps, the 423rd Motorized Rifle Regiment, and the 12th Tank Regiment of the 4th Tank Division of the enemy’s 1st Tank Army against Petropavlivka from the north and south of Vilshana towards the Kupyansk-Svatove road are ongoing. The enemy managed to advance west of Synkivka and southeast of Vilshana.
- On the Lyman direction, Russian forces continued their offensive around Kreminna, attacked near Hrekivka, Nevske, Makiivka, and Terny.
- On the Siversk Direction, Russian forces continued their offensive actions in the areas of Verkhnyokamianske, Spirne, Vyimka, Vesele, and Rozdolivka.
- On the Kramatorsk direction, the fire group of the 94th Regiment of Operative Purpose of the 46th Separated Brigade of Operative Purpose of the Russian National Guard slightly advanced during the assault within Andriivka. Russian forces advanced between Chasiv Yar and Kalynivka, attacked the eastern outskirts of Chasiv Yar near Bohdanivka, Hryhorivka, Bila Hora, and Klishchiivka.
- On the Toretsk direction, advanced units of the 132nd Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 1st Army Corps, reinforced by units of the 109th Rifle Regiment of mobilization reserve and the 277th Rifle Battalion, advanced generally towards Yuriivka – New York, east of the Kostyantynivka – Yasynuvata road, attempted to expand their penetration on the flanks and break through to the center of New York. They broke through in the area of the school and are fighting for the local sports complex and along Voiniv-Internatsionalistiv Street but have so far failed to take the central and eastern parts of the town. The 506th and 589th Motorized Rifle Regiments of the 27th Motorized Rifle Division broke through from the side of Mayorsk towards Druzhba, occupied several houses on the eastern outskirts of Pivnichne, broke through to the forest east of Pivnichne, entered Pivdenne from the side of Shumy, advanced almost to Sotsmistechko, but were stopped. The enemy is trying to hold several multi-story buildings in Pivdenne near the school on Molodosti Street, but has failed to break through towards Zalizne and towards Pivnichne from the south.
- On the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces captured Yasnobrodivka, advanced 750 meters north of Novooleksandrivka, 250 meters south of Prohres, up to 1 km east of Lozuvatske, northwest and southwest of Yevhenivka, and west of Novopokrovske. They attacked near Vozdvyzhenka, Tymofiivka, Kalynove, Karlivka, Netaylove, Umanske, Nevelske.
- “Tavriya” OSG units withdrew from positions near Yevhenivka and Novoselivka Persha.
- On the Kurakhove direction, Russian forces slightly advanced in the fields east of Kostyantynivka, continued to advance in the area of Ikryana Balka, attacked in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Paraskoviivka, and Vodyane.
- On the Vremivka direction, Russian forces continued to attack near Novosilka, Rivnopil, Urozhaine, and Makarivka, but failed to advance.
- On the Orikhiv direction, battles continued near Robotyne, Verbove, Mala Tokmachka, Novoandriivka, and Shcherbaky.
- In the Black Sea-Azov naval operational area, the enemy naval group on combat duty consists of:
- Azov Sea: 3 ships, including 0 cruise missile carriers; the total salvo is 0 cruise missiles.
- Mediterranean Sea: 2 ships, including 2 cruise missile carriers; the total salvo is 24 cruise missiles.
Changes in the enemy disposition:
- The 215th Separate Reconnaissance Battalion of the 98th Airborne Division operates near Chasiv Yar.
- The “Center” Operational Grouping has up to 400 tanks and 850 armored fighting vehicles, with the majority concentrated on the Pokrovsk rather than the Toretsk direction.
Escalation indicators:
- Enemy forward units advanced to the Pishchane area on the Kupyansk direction.
Possible operation situation developments:
- On the Kupyansk direction, in the operational zone of the 1st Tank Army, command of the enemy’s “Zapad (West)” Operational Grouping will attempt to reach the Oskil River in the Hlushkivka – Zahryzove sector, the Petropavlivka – Kurylivka line, and storm Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi railway junction. This assumption is supported he enemy’s increased activity specifically on the flanks (Synkivka – Petropavlivka and Pishchane – Kolisnykivka directions). To bind the “Khortytsia” OSG forces, the enemy will exert frontal pressure on their positions in the Stepova Novoselivka area.
- The enemy has completed the formation of a tactical group consisting of the 252nd Motorized Rifle Regiment, 237th Tank Regiment of the 3rd Motorized Rifle Division, 283rd Motorized Rifle Regiment, and 59th Tank Regiment of the 144th Motorized Rifle Division. This group will soon attempt to seize the crossing over the Chornyi Zherebets River in Makiivka and attack the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces units in Nevske from the areas of Makiivka and Chervonopopivka.
- The following units will attack through the wooded area of Chasiv Yar with assault groups: the 200th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 14th Army Corps will advance from the Kalynivka area, while the 98th Airborne Division will move between the T0504 Kostyantynivka–Bakhmut highway and the “Novyi” neighborhood, with part of its forces in the “Zhovtnevyi” neighborhood. Their actions will begin with the capture of Kalynivka and securing control over the intersection of the Siversky Donets–Donbas canal and the T0504 highway.
