Russia’s war on Ukraine. 19.07.2024

In the operational zone of the Ukrainian Operational Group of Forces (OTG) “Kharkiv” on the Kharkiv direction, the enemy attacked 8 times near Hlyboke and Vovchansk. All attacks were successfully repelled.

In the “Khortytsia” Operational-Strategic Group of Forces (OSG) operational zone on the Kupyansk direction, the enemy attempted to advance to the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces 11 times throughout the day near Synkivka, Stelmakhivka, Berestove, and Pishchane. Six enemy attacks were successfully repelled, and fighting continues. On the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 13 times in the areas of Makiivka, Nevske, Torske, and Terny. On the Siversk direction, the enemy unsuccessfully attempted to break through the Ukrainian defense five times during the day in the areas of Pereyizne, Spirne, and Vyimka. On the Kramatorsk direction, five attacks in the areas of Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, and towards Novomarkove were thwarted. The invaders are suffering losses. On the Toretsk direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 18 enemy attacks near Pivnichne, Toretsk, and New York.

In the “Tavriya” OSG operational zone, the enemy was most active today on the Pokrovsk direction. The occupiers attempted to breach the defense 22 times in the areas of Vozdvyzhenka, Novoselivka Persha, Novooleksandrivka, Prohres, Umanske, and Yasnobrodivka. Ukrainian Defense Forces are taking measures to stabilize the situation and prevent the enemy from advancing deep into Ukrainian territory. On the Kurakhove direction, the enemy attacked 14 times, showing the most activity in the area of Krasnohorivka and Paraskoviivka. The occupiers unsuccessfully stormed the Defense Forces’ positions 6 times on Orikhiv direction near Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne, and Novoandriivka.

In the operational zone of “Odesa” OSG on the Prydniprovskiy direction, the enemy continues to try to dislodge Ukrainian Defense Forces from their positions. Three enemy assaults were repelled.

General conclusion:

  • The composition of the enemy’s assault groups on the Prydniprovskiy direction has decreased from 6-7 persons to 3-4. Many Russian servicemen have refused to fight.

Change in the line of contact (LoC):

  • There were 107 combat engagements on various fronts.
  • On the Sumy direction, the enemy carried out an unsuccessful local cross-border raid into Sumy Oblast. Enemy reconnaissance and sabotage groups attempted to break through to Chuykivka, Rozhkovychi, and Sytne after intense artillery and mortar shelling.
  • On the Kharkiv direction, Russian forces advanced in the western part of Hlyboke, where fighting continues. Battles also took place in Vovchansk and near Tykhe.
  • On the Kupyansk direction, Russian forces made minor advances southeast of Kupyansk, southwest of Svatove, south of Stepova Novoselivka, northeast of Makiivka, and attacked near Synkivka, Berestove, Pishchane, Novoosynove, Stelmakhivka, and Andriivka. They also struck the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ crossings in Hlushkivka and Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi.
  • On the Lyman direction, Russian forces advanced west of Kreminna and east of Terny, attacking near Makiivka, Hrekivka, Nevske, Terny, and Torske, in the area of the Serebriansk Forest.
  • On the Siversk Direction, Russian forces advanced near Rozdolivka and continued their offensive in the areas of Spirne, Verkhnyokamianske, Vyimka, Berestove, and Pereyizne.
  • On the Kramatorsk direction, Russian forces advanced within Kalynivka and in the forested area southwest of Klishchiivka, continuing their assault towards Novomarkove, near Chasiv Yar, and in the area of Ivanivske.
  • On the Toretsk direction, Russian forces made minor advances south of Toretsk, towards Kooperatyvna Street in New York, Petra Velykoho Street on the eastern outskirts of Druzhba, to the intersection of Kalynova and Kutuzov Streets on the northeastern outskirts of Pivnichne, and within Zalizne.
  • On the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces made minor advances into central Yevhenivka, in the area of Yevhenivka, Vozdvyzhenka, Lozuvatske, Prohres, Novoselivka Persha, and the Karlivka Reservoir, continuing their offensive near Kalynove, Novooleksandrivka, and Umanske.
  • On the Kurakhove direction, Russian forces continued attacks in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Paraskoviivka, and Kostyantynivka.
  • On the Vremivka direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces withdrew from Urozhaine.
  • On the Orikhiv direction, Russian forces advanced in the fields south of Hulyaipole and west of Marfopil, attacking near Robotyne, along the lines of Verbove-Mala Tokmachka, and Nesteryanka-Novoandriivka.
  • On the Prydniprovskiy direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces withdrew their units from Krynky but continue to engage in combat near Krynky and other locations on the left bank of Kherson Oblast, fighting for the islands in the Dnipro River delta.
  • In the Black Sea-Azov naval operational area, the enemy naval group on combat duty consists of:
    • Azov Sea: 4 ships, including 0 cruise missile carriers; the total salvo is 0 cruise missiles.
    • Mediterranean Sea: 1 ship, including 1 cruise missile carriers; the total salvo is 8 cruise missiles.
  • Ukrainian Defense Forces delivered a combined strike from sea and air on the enemy’s Black Sea Fleet base at Lake Donuzlav in the occupied Crimea. The attack disabled the headquarters, command post, ammunition depot, electrical substation, and the air defense launch position.

Changes in the enemy disposition:

  • A reconnaissance company of the 272nd Motorized Rifle Regiment and the 375th Separated Anti-Tank Battalion of the 47th Tank Division of the 1st Tank Army operate near Kyslivka.
  • Units of the 7th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 2nd Army Corps are active near Hryhorivka.
  • The “Vega” detachment from the 24th Separate SOF Brigade operates near Avdiivka.
  • Russian troops are relocating forces from Novoazovsk of Donetsk Oblast and from other regions. This grouping is moving closer to the front line towards Rozivka, Polohy, and Tokmak. The occupiers simultaneously deploy along the coast of the Sea of Azov reserves and units withdrawn for recovery to replenish and prepare. Most of the concentration areas of these troops are located in the Mariupol-Berdyansk agglomeration, in Prymorsk, and Kyrylivka.

Possible operation situation developments:

  • On the Vovchansk direction, the enemy may abandon assault actions and shift to attacks on the flanks in the direction of Buhruvatka – Starytsya – Izbytske, attempting to bypass Vovchansk from the east through Tykhe and Vovchanski Khutory.
  • On the Kupyansk direction, in the operational zone of the 1st Tank Army, command of the enemy’s “Zapad (West)” Operational Grouping will attempt to reach the Oskil River in the Hlushkivka – Zahryzove sector, the Petropavlivka – Kurylivka line, and storm Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi railway junction. This assumption is supported he enemy’s increased activity specifically on the flanks (Synkivka – Petropavlivka and Pishchane – Kolisnykivka directions). To bind the “Khortytsia” OSG forces, the enemy will exert frontal pressure on their positions in the Stepova Novoselivka area.
  • The enemy has completed the formation of a tactical group consisting of the 252nd Motorized Rifle Regiment, 237th Tank Regiment of the 3rd Motorized Rifle Division, 283rd Motorized Rifle Regiment, and 59th Tank Regiment of the 144th Motorized Rifle Division. This group will soon attempt to seize the crossing over the Chornyi Zherebets River in Makiivka and attack the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces units in Nevske from the areas of Makiivka and Chervonopopivka.
  • The enemy’s “Yug (South)” Operational Grouping failed to advance through Kalynivka, failing to complete the task of bypassing Chasiv Yar from the north and breaking through Ridkodubya towards the railway station north of the Refractory plant, thus falling to force the forward units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces to retreat from the “Novyi” and “Zhovtnevyi” neighborhoods and avoid a frontal assault on their positions across the canal. A repeat attempt of such actions should be expected if the “Siversky Donets-Donbas” canal between Kalynivka and the “Zhovtnevyi” neighborhood is crossed.
  • The 55th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade is preparing to intensify offensive actions with at least two battalions and two to three assault groups from a consolidated assault company north of Novooleksandrivka towards Zelene Pole and Baranivka, aiming to support the right flank of a tactical group that will attempt to capture Vozdvyzhenka.
  • Units of the 55th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade are actively fortifying their forward positions between Novooleksandrivka and Arkhanhelske, particularly setting up mine-explosive barriers. If the enemy achieves success north of Novooleksandrivka, they may also launch an attack towards Kalynove.
  • Assault units of the enemy’s 30th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade and the 433rd Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 27th Motorized Rifle Division currently attacking towards Prohres have received reinforcements (up to twenty to twenty-five personnel) and will attack shortly north and south of the Pokrovsk-Prohres railway.
  • Russian forces will intensify attacks south of Kostyantynivka to encircle the Vuhledar defense area.
