General conclusion:

  • On the Kupyansk and Lyman directions, the enemy is making efforts to reach the administrative borders of Luhansk and Donetsk Oblasts across a wide front. The battles along the Kupyansk-Svatove line are currently mostly positional in nature.
  • On the Toretsk direction, the enemy aims to split the “Khortytsia” OSG along the Toretsk-Kostyantynivka axis and set the stage for encirclement in the Bakhmut-Toretsk-Avdiivka area. They are conducting active operations in Druzhba, Pivnichne, Pivdenne, and Zalizne to reach the eastern outskirts of Toretsk. Simultaneously, they’re pushing from New York through Nelypivka to the southern outskirts of Toretsk, aiming to encircle “Khortytsia” OSG units in the Toretsk-Nelypivka-Zalizne-New York area.
  • In the area of Chasiv Yar, the enemy has not abandoned its intention to encircle the city and is trying to advance westward in the areas of Dubovo-Vasylivka, Hryhorivka, Ivanivske, and Klishchiivka.
  • Russian forces have recently achieved significant tactical advances northwest of Avdiivka amid intense efforts to encircle Ukrainian forces on the Pokrovsk direction.
  • The command of the enemy’s “Center” Operational Grouping maintains a high intensity of combat operations in the areas northwest, west, and southwest of Avdiivka. Enemy troops are most active near Prohres, Novooleksandrivka, Tymofiivka, and Zhelanne.
  • The enemy has significantly expanded the geography of their attacks on the Orikhiv direction.

Change in the line of contact (LoC):

  • There were 149 combat engagements on various fronts.
  • On the Kharkiv direction, Russian forces captured the entire territory of the Vovchansk Aggregate Plant. Fighting also continued near Hlyboke and other areas in Vovchansk.
  • Ukrainian Defense Forces conducted 4 counterattacks near Starytsya.
  • On the Kupyansk direction, Russian forces attacked in the areas of Synkivka, Novoosynove, Pishchane, Stelmakhivka, and Novoserhiivka.
  • On the Lyman direction, Russian forces attacked near Makiivka, Nevske, Novosadove, Terny, and Torske.
  • On the Siversk Direction, Russian forces unsuccessfully attacked near Verkhnyokamianske, Spirne, Ivano-Dariivka, and Pereyizne.
  • On the Kramatorsk direction, Russian forces breached “Khortytsia” OSG defenses in certain sections along the Siversky Donets-Donbas canal, entered the “Novyi” and “Zhovtnevyi” neighborhoods, and are entrenching in new positions. The enemy is attempting to dislodge Ukrainian Defense Forces from their positions in the Orlovskyi forest area and controls most of the forest massif. The occupiers attacked near Vasyukivka, Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, Dubovo-Vasylivka, Ivanivske, and Klishchiivka.
  • On the Toretsk direction, Russian forces continue to attack and advance within the southwestern part of New York, southwest of Yuriivka, in Zalizne and Pivnichne, and attacked near Toretsk, New York, Pivnichne, and Zalizne.
  • On the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces are holding positions in the western part of Novoselivka Persha, advanced to the forest belt west of Vovche, west of Lozuvatske, south of Netaylove, captured most of Vesele, and are moving towards Novohrodivka and Selydove.
  • On the Kurakhove direction, Russian forces advanced to the forest belt in the fields south of Kostyantynivka, to the western outskirts and within the northern part of Krasnohorivka, conducted several unsuccessful attacks in the area of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Paraskoviivka, Kostyantynivka, and Vodyane, and towards Antonivka.
  • On the Vremivka direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled enemy attacks near Velyka Novosilka.
  • On the Orikhiv direction, positional battles continued near Robotyne, Hulyaipole, Mala Tokmachka, Verbove, Novodanylivka, and Novoandriivka.
  • On the Prydniprovskiy direction, positional battles continued on the eastern bank of the Dnipro River and on the delta islands.
  • In the Black Sea-Azov naval operational area, the enemy naval group on combat duty consists of:
    • Black Sea: 3 ships, including 3 cruise missile carriers; the total salvo is 12 cruise missiles.
    • Mediterranean Sea: 2 ships, including 1 cruise missile carrier; the total salvo is 16 cruise missiles.

Changes in the enemy disposition:

  • Units of the 60th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 5th Combined Arms Army and the 1472nd Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 68th Army Corps are active on the Vremivka direction.
  • The recent defeat of the Wagner PMC in Mali may lead to the withdrawal of part of the “African Corps” forces from Kharkiv Oblast to replenish Wagner’s losses in Africa.

Possible operation situation developments:

  • The enemy will attempt to advance along both banks of the Lypets River from the village of Lukyantsi towards Lyptsi to regain control over its northeastern outskirts. These actions may be accompanied by an enemy attempt to break through towards the Travyanske Reservoir, thereby cutting off the “Kharkiv” OTG units currently fighting for Hlyboke from the village of Lyptsi.
  • On the Kupyansk direction, in the operational zone of the 1st Tank Army, command of the enemy’s “Zapad (West)” Operational Grouping will attempt to reach the Oskil River in the Hlushkivka – Zahryzove sector, the Petropavlivka – Kurylivka line, and storm Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi railway junction. To bind the “Khortytsia” OSG forces, the enemy will exert frontal pressure on their positions in the Stepova Novoselivka area.

Humanitarian+general:

  • Russian forces carried out 2,785 shelling attacks in Donetsk Oblast over the past day, damaging 34 civilian objects. Russian troops killed four civilians and injured five more in the region.
  • Since the morning of June 30, Russian invaders have been shelling the village of Chornobaivka in Kherson Oblast. As of 2:00 PM, a 32-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl have been injured.
  • On Wednesday, July 31, there are no planned power outages, according to the press service of “Ukrenergo.” The improvement in the electricity situation has been made possible by the completion of repairs at two nuclear power plants and a decrease in temperature.
  • Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, at least 361 people have been kidnapped by Russians in the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson Oblasts, including 101 representatives of the Crimean Tatar people, the Crimean Tatar Resource Center reported.
  • In the temporarily occupied territories, military commissariats are preparing new recruits for death in advance. In military commissariats (both in the occupied territories of Ukraine and in the Russian Federation), new recruits are given “recommendations based on combat experience.” These include information such as: “Death is your closest ally in war. Closer than a comrade and your rifle. It is neither for you nor against your enemy,” the Eastern Human Rights Group reported. The occupiers are trying to create and promote the so-called ‘ideology of death’ among new recruits in the occupation forces, human rights activists noted.
