In the “Khortytsia” Operational-Strategic Group of Forces (OSG) operational zone on the Kupyansk direction, the enemy carried out 7 attacks near Stepova Novoselivka, Kolisnykivka, Berestove, and Andriivka. On the Lyman direction, Russian invaders attacked Ukrainian positions near Novoserhiivka, Nevske, and Makiivka 8 times, and fighting continues near Nevske. On the Siversk direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 2 enemy attacks in the areas of Ivano-Dariivka and Verkhnyokamianske during combat engagements. On the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy attacked near Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, and Andriivka 8 times. Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 6 attacks, and battles continue in the Chasiv Yar area. On the Toretsk direction, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian troops near Zalizne, Toretsk, New York, and Pivnichne 20 times.

In the “Tavriya” OSG operational zoneon the Pokrovsk direction, 43 combat engagements took place near Panteleimonivka, Vozdvyzhenka, Arkhanhelske, Novooleksandrivka, Ivanivka, Tymofiivka, Lysychne, Ivanivske, Zhelanne, Serhiivka, and Karlivka. The enemy is concentrating its efforts near Novooleksandrivka and Zhelanne. On the Kurakhove direction, the enemy attacked the positions of Ukrainian Defense Forces near Krasnohorivka, Zhelanne, Kostyantynivka, Karlivka, and Paraskoviivka 12 times. On the Vremivka direction, the enemy advanced towards Kostyantynivka. Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled all 4 Russian attacks near Velyka Novosilka.

In the operational zone of “Odesa” OSG on the Prydniprovskiy direction, 5 enemy assaults on the left bank of the Dnipro River were unsuccessful.

General conclusion:

  • The command of the enemy’s “Tsentr (Center)” Operational Grouping is capable of transforming its tactical successes on the Pokrovsk direction into an operational breakthrough by the end of August.
  • The current plan of the commander of the enemy’s 41st Army involves the simultaneous advancement of its forward units along converging directions towards Nelypivka via Yuriivka – New York and through Zalizne, aiming to cut off the “Khortytsia” OSG units which continue to hold the eastern part of New York.
  • “Tavriya” OSG is inferior to the enemy on the Pokrovsk direction in terms of troops and resources, particularly in fire and air support, and is currently unable to prevent the confident advancement of Russian troops.
  • The main objective of the enemy’s offensive operation on the Pokrovsk direction is to advance as far west and northwest as possible in the area of Novohrodivka and towards the Myrnohrad – Malynivka line, with Pokrovsk itself not being the primary target of the offensive. The “Tsentr (Center)” Operational Grouping is creating favorable conditions for capturing Toretsk, especially considering the disruption of the Pokrovsk – Kostyantynivka rocade.
  • The advancement of the 2nd Army’s forward units towards Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad results in the monthly loss of 2-3 battalions.
  • It is quite possible that the command of the enemy’s “Tsentr (Center)” Operational Grouping will be forced to return part of the 41st Army troops to the Pokrovsk direction.

Change in the line of contact (LoC):

  • There were 117 combat engagements on various fronts.
  • On the Kharkiv direction, Russian troops made slight advances near the Vovchansk Aggregate Plant, captured two heights near Lyptsi, and continued attacks near Hlyboke, Starytsya, and Tykhe.
  • On the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops advanced southeast of Synkivka, south of Novoheorhiivka, and captured two positions of Ukrainian Defense Forces units south of Makiivka. Fighting continued near Synkivka, Berestove, Pishchane, Kolisnykivka, Stepova Novoselivka, and Stelmakhivka.
  • On the Lyman direction, fighting continued near Makiivka, Nevske, Novoserhiivka, and in the area of the Serebriansk Forest.
  • On the Siversk Direction, Russian troops continued offensive actions in the area of Verkhnyokamianske, Vyimka, Ivano-Dariivka, and Pereyizne but made no advances.
  • On the Kramatorsk direction, Russian troops slightly advanced and crossed the Siversky Donets-Donbas canal north of the Novyi district, advanced further within the “Novyi” and “Zhovtnevyi” neighborhoods, and stormed Ukrainian Defense Forces positions near Kalynivka, Ivanivske, and Andriivka.
  • On the Toretsk direction, units and formations of the 41st Army, reinforced by separate units of the 1st Army Corps of the 8th Army, continued offensive actions, delivering the main strike in the following directions:
    • 74th Motorized Rifle Brigade towards Novoselivka – Nelypivka, the area of New York,
    • 15th and 35th Motorized Rifle Brigades towards Shumy – Zalizne, Mayorsk – Druzhba,
    • 55th Motorized Rifle Brigade towards Novooleksandrivka – Zelenopillya.
    • The 74th and 132nd Motorized Rifle Brigades conducted assault actions towards Panteleimonivka,
    • The 132nd Motorized Rifle Brigade is moving towards Kostyantynivka – Yasynuvata.
  • The enemy deeply penetrated the tactical defense zone of the “Khortytsia” OSG, completely capturing Pivdenne, most of Zalizne, half of Pivnichne, reaching maximum advances in the last 2-3 days.
  • In the area of New York, the enemy’s forward units fully occupied the southern part and partially the central part of the town, expanding this penetration towards Panteleimonivka and Oleksandropil.
  • On the Pokrovsk direction, over two months of fighting, the enemy managed to penetrate the “Tavriya” OSG defense in the direction of Sokil – Serhiivka to a depth of up to 6.5 km along a 7.5 km front, overcoming the barrier line along the Vovcha and Kazennyi Torets rivers, breaking through between them along the Avdiivka – Pokrovsk railway line. The deployment of the 27th Motorized Rifle Division, the operational reserve of the “Tsentr (Center)” Operational Grouping, allowed the advance pace on this direction to increase. Units of the 30th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade fully took control of the Tymofiivka area. Units of the 15th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade, supported by the 30th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade, continued attacking in the directions of Prohres – Lysychne, Prohres – Ivanivka, and are 1-1.5 km from the eastern and southeastern outskirts of these villages. Units of the 506th and 589th Motorized Rifle Regiments of the 27th Motorized Rifle Division of the 2nd Army advanced in the directions of Vovche – Vesele, Vovche – Zhelanne, and towards Serhiivka. The enemy has already fully occupied Vesele, is fighting on the northern and eastern outskirts of Zhelanne and is approximately 1.8 km from the eastern outskirts of Serhiivka.
  • Units of the 433rd Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 27th Motorized Rifle Division, in cooperation with the 114th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 1st Army Corps, captured the main defense node of the “Tavriya” OSG on the bridgehead east of the Vovcha River (Novoselivka Persha). In the attack zone of the 6th, 80th, and 239th Tank Regiments of the 90th Tank Division of the 41st Army, they managed to take control of Yasnobrodivka and advance northwest and west of Umanske.
  • Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold the bridgehead on the Vovcha River on the section north of Mezheve – west of Yasnobrodivka.
  • On the Kurakhove direction, Russian forces made slight advances northeast of Heorhiivka, south of Kostyantynivka, and to the northwest outskirts of Krasnohorivka.
  • On the Vremivka direction, Russian troops continued assaults near Velyka Novosilka, south of it, near Staromayorske and Urozhaine, but no changes in the front line occurred.
  • On the Orikhiv direction, Russian troops advanced northwest of Verbove, further northwest of Robotyne, and fighting continued near Mala Tokmachka and Novoandriivka.
  • Ukrainian Defense Forces counterattacked near Novodanylivka.
  • In the Black Sea-Azov naval operational area, the enemy naval group on combat duty consists of:
    • Black Sea: 2 ships, including 2 cruise missile carriers; the total salvo is 8 cruise missiles.
    • Mediterranean Sea: 2 ships, including 1 cruise missile carrier; the total salvo is 16 cruise missiles.

Changes in the enemy disposition:

  • A unit of Ukrainian Defense Forces ambushed and destroyed a sabotage and reconnaissance group from the 322nd Special Operations Center of the Russian Armed Forces in the Semenivskyi district of Chernihiv Oblast.
  • The enemy is transferring the 22nd Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 72nd Motorized Rifle Division of the 44th Army Corps to the Starytsya area.
  • The 27th Motorized Rifle Division has been redeployed from Toretsk to the Pokrovsk direction, where it will continue its offensive as part of the 2nd Combined Arms Army.
  • The 2nd Army (27th Motorized Rifle Division, 30th, and 15th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigades), the 41st Army (35th, 55th, and 74th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigades), the 90th Tank Division of the 41st Army (6th, 80th, and 239th Tank Regiments, 228th Motorized Rifle Regiment), and the 114th and 132nd Separate Motorized Rifle Brigades of the 1st Army Corps of the 8th Army are advancing on the operational zone of the enemy’s “Tsentr (Center)” Operational Grouping.

Escalation indicators:

  • For two consecutive days, the enemy has been delivering powerful air strikes and massively using strike UAVs on targets in Ukraine’s strategic depth.

Possible operation situation developments:

  • The enemy will attempt to advance along both banks of the Lypets River from the village of Lukyantsi towards Lyptsi to regain control over its northeastern outskirts. These actions may be accompanied by an enemy attempt to break through towards the Travyanske Reservoir, thereby cutting off the “Kharkiv” OTG units currently fighting for Hlyboke from the village of Lyptsi.
  • On the Kupyansk direction, in the operational zone of the 1st Tank Army, command of the enemy’s “Zapad (West)” Operational Grouping will attempt to reach the Oskil River in the Hlushkivka – Zahryzove sector, the Petropavlivka – Kurylivka line, and storm Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi railway junction. To bind the “Khortytsia” OSG forces, the enemy will exert frontal pressure on their positions in the Stepova Novoselivka area.
  • In the near future, “Tavriya” OSG units will be forced to retreat westward beyond the Vovcha River under simultaneous pressure from the enemy’s 27th Motorized Rifle Division, 90th Tank Division, and 114th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade. There is a high probability of an enemy breakthrough between Mezhove and Skuchne in the general direction of Komyshivka.
