The Expert Discussion of the Second Parliamentary Summit of the International Crimea Platform to take place on October 24th in Prague

This critical component of the Summit will gather top experts, policymakers, and scholars for comprehensive discussions on key global issues.
The participants are expected to have an in-depth discussion of important issues, including strategies for the protection of human rights on the territory of occupied Crimea, possible consequences of the future de-occupation, as well as strategies for weakening the Black Sea Fleet, which poses threats to the entire region. Ukrainian and international experts on the Crimean issue will contribute their knowledge and experience to the discussions, providing a comprehensive understanding of current problems and potential solutions.
Panel discussions:
Panel Discussion 1: “Inevitable liberation of Crimea”. This panel will assess the implications of liberating Crimea and its impact on the Black Sea region. It will also explore the benefits for affected countries from addressing the Russian Black Sea Fleet. Discussions will include strategies to strengthen Ukraine’s military capabilities with support from Western partners.
Panel Discussion 2: “Humanitarian Challenges in Occupied Crimea”. The second panel will focus on the aftermath of the occupation, discussing justice for crimes committed, compensation for damages, and protection of indigenous rights. It will also address the issues of militarization, displacement, and the Kremlin’s soft power influence on democratic nations.
The event will begin with opening remarks from key figures in Crimean affairs, including Ruslan Stefanchuk, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (TBC), Marketa Pekarova Adamova, Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic (TBC), Jan Marian, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, and Olga Skrypnyk, Co-coordinator of the Crimea Platform Expert Network and Head of the Board of the Crimean Human Rights Group
